The Mission of Jesus Frees Ministries is to team people and resources to reach the world with the freeing power of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Frees Ministries is a Spirit-led, non-denominational organization that is making disciples while reinforcing, encouraging and comforting the impoverished.

How JFM Began:

The Azusa Street Centennial Celebration in Los Angeles  in 2006 definitely proved to be a divine appointment for Mike and Cheryl Freese.  That is where they partnered with Pastor Wachira Karani from Nyeri, Kenya.  Pastor Wachira has been a minister since 1996.   He is the presbyter of his region as well as the mentor pastor for the Christian Pastors’ Fellowship of 600 pastors.  Pastor Wachira has planted 65 new churches and reached many Muslims for Jesus.

Through this divine meeting God sent Mike and Cheryl to Africa for an initial “Shake Down Cruise” in June 2006.  They were amazed to see the Work of God in Kenya!

THE TRIP WAS PHENOMENAL!    Mike and Cheryl met 15 AIDS orphans living at the Kenya Kids Home located on the church compound.  They also met the 130 students at the High School Pastor Wachira started for disadvantaged children.  They also and visited many of the new church plants.

God's call to Africa was confirmed to them in such a powerful way that they returned to the States and formed a non-profit, tax exempt organization called, JESUS FREES MINISTRIES.  They purchased a house in Nyeri, Kenya where they can welcome Short Term Mission Teams that desire to come assist the work in Africa.  

In 2007 Mike and Cheryl sold their home in Oregon.  They now spend six months of the year in Kenya and 6 months traveling the United States raising support for the great work going on in Kenya.

Biography: Michael Freese

I was born and raised in Oregon and my background and education are in Mechanical and Structural Engineering.  I am a licensed General Contractor and have been in the building trade for 18 years.  Before becoming a fulltime contractor I was a commercial fisherman for twelve years.  I now serve as President of Jesus Frees Ministries.   The Lord has called me to help design and coordinate the building of Orphanages, High Schools, Clinics, Wells and Bible Schools.

I am a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and although I believed in the Lord for many years, I didn’t serve him with my whole heart.  The events of the last several years have brought me into a close relationship with Jesus Christ and Him crucified. And now instead of building custom homes I want the Lord to use me as a tool to build His Kingdom and instead of fishing for seafood I have become a fisher of men. 

Biography: Cheryl Freese (Price) (Moore)

I grew up on the campus of Vanguard University in Southern California and also attended the school in the 70's.  After raising my 3 children, my late husband Dave Moore and I, worked at Valle Vista Assembly of God in Hemet, Ca. (1997-2005) leading worship, directing the choir and teaching various Christian classes. 

I am ordained with the Independent Assemblies of God International and serve as Executive Director of Jesus Frees Ministries.  I love the Lord Jesus Christ and have devoted my life to serving Him and pointing others to the Freedom that He died to give us.  Jesus Frees!
