How To Go To Heaven There is an eternity for every person after they die. Most people want to go to heaven but they mistakenly think being a good person will get them in. God has given the 10 commandments to show us that no human being can be good all the time. God says to us all, "There is none righteous, no not one" (Romans 3:10). "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, everyone to his own way" (Isaiah 53:6a) Sin is going our own way while rejecting the way God has provided. "There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death" (Proverbs 14:12). Following our own way leads to death…eternal separation from God. We must understand that our good works can never pay the penalty for the sins we have committed. We need to recognize that Jesus took our punishment on the cross... "the Lord has laid on Him (Jesus) the iniquity of us all" (Isaiah 53:6b). Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall "live" (John 11:25). "Because I live, you will live also" (John 14:19). Following Jesus leads to life…eternal union with God. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23). Jesus died on the cross as our substitute, taking our place, dying for the sins that we have committed. "For there is one God and One Mediator between God and man, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, a testimony given in due time" (1 Timothy 2:5-6). In Mark 8:36 Jesus, not the president, not the head of the United Nations, not even your mother but JESUS asks this question: "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?" No tragedy is greater than that of a lost soul, needlessly lost. God has provided the way of salvation for each and every individual. Jesus said, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). Jesus came into the world for a specific purpose, to seek and to save those who were lost (Luke 19:10). The gracious words spoken by Jesus, "I am the way, the Truth and the Life" are as true today as when He first spoke them. (John 14:6) Forgiveness for sin and eternal life is found only in Jesus Christ. "That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation" (Romans 10:9-10). STEPS TO SALVATION Personally confess your sins to Jesus and ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins. "For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13). PRAYER FOR SALVATION Lord Jesus I acknowledge and confess to You that I am a sinner, and I believe that You died on the cross for me. Please forgive me for all of my sins and come into my heart. I submit my life to You and receive You now as my Lord and my God. Amen. Now receive eternal life and experience His forgiveness. Commit your life to Him and live, now and forever… Turn to God and serve Him (1 Thessalonians 1:9). Trust in God’s faithfulness: "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me; and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out" (John 6:37). Receive the Holy Spirit and let Jesus baptize you in the Holy Spirit: Before ascending into heaven, Jesus said, "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth… He abides with you and will be in you." (John 14:16-17) John the Baptist said, "I baptized you in water; But he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit."Ask Jesus to baptize you in the Holy Spirit and trust Him to do it. "He (the Holy Spirit) who begins a good work in you will complete it" (Philippians 1:6). WATER BAPTISM As soon as possible be baptized in water. Jesus said, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20) GO TO CHURCH TO MEET WITH OTHER CHRISTIANS "And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."
